The Balonne Shire is located along the beautiful Balonne River, just five hours' drive west of Brisbane on the QLD-NSW border. Balonne Shire Council has a dedicated team of 110+ staff and population of 4,500 people who live in the surrounding towns of St George, Thallon, Dirranbandi, Bollon, Nindigully, Mungindi and Hebel.
About the Position:
The Plant Operator - Stabiliser / Technical Assistantis responsible for carrying out operation of a stabiliser for maintenance and construction works on sealed roads, rural roads and town street projects. The role also involves assisting with project development, operations, quality assurance and road network data capture activities.
About you (selection criteria):
- Current MR Class open drivers' licence
- White Card - General Safety Induction
- Ability to work unsupervised while delivering high quality outcomes
- Ability to use technology and undertake further development in technology system inclusive of Trimble / Topcon systems, Computers and Metrocount
- Minimum two (2) years’ relevant experience on capital work projects
- Relevant technical experience to meet the requirements of the role
- Experience in operating a stabiliser (road reclaimer / soil stabiliser)
