The Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority (AOSMA) is the organisation responsible for the management of the Adelaide Oval precinct and is a joint venture between football (South Australian National Football League) and cricket (South Australian Cricket Association). The Adelaide Oval is a world-class, multi-purpose 53,000 seat stadium. It is Adelaide’s number one tourism destination, having attracted over 1.8 million visitors a year and is a significant contributor to the State’s tourism assets with the award winning RoofClimb and Stadium tours, as well as Australia’s first ever integrated stadium Hotel – Oval Hotel.

AOSMA employs approximately 220 full-time staff, plus 1,500 casual employees, in areas such as Corporate Services, Stadium Operations, Tourism, Food & Beverage, Sales, ICT, Maintenance and Grounds, making Adelaide Oval one of the state’s largest employers in the hospitality and tourism sectors. SMA Concierge (Part-time, $30.10 per hour)

The SMA Concierge is the first impression for clients, guests and visitors to Adelaide Oval. This is a front-line role, which requires someone who is extremely well-organised, professional, passionate, energetic and welcoming. Along with exceptional customer service skills, you will have strong administration skills and experience in reservations and managing a busy environment.

It is important that the SMA Concierge strives to deliver outstanding customer services and make positive first impressions with every customer.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage a busy switchboard promptly and with an excellent phone manner.
  • Assist with patron enquiries and effectively resolve customer feedback.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Concierge area and ensuring the area is presented in a pristine manner.
  • Coordinate daily reservations across Adelaide Oval departments including tours, experiences and RoofClimb.
  • Personal attention to VIP escorts as required.
  • Daily check-in of Adelaide Oval Tours and Adelaide Oval Ambassador Group support.
  • Assisting with general enquiries, gift card sales, and redemptions as well as retail merchandise sales.
  • Manage distribution of incoming mail and accounting for outgoing mail, arranging couriers.
  • Ascertaining visitors needs and announce the arrival of guests to internal staff.
  • Assist with correspondence and other general company administration.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.

What you will bring

To be eligible for this position you will need to have proven experience managing a busy Reception or proven experience in a Concierge role.

 In addition, to be successful in this role you will able to demonstrate:

  • Reservation and CRM systems experience.
  • Availability to work across a 7day week rotating roster including public holidays. 
  • Knowledge of booking, ticketing and Point of Sale systems.
  • Professional and polite telephone manner.
  • Experience managing a busy switchboard.
  • Warm and engaging personality.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • High standard of customer service.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • An autonomous work ethic.
  • The ability to retain a patient & empathetic demeanour while assisting patrons with difficult requests.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and in particular skills in building positive working relationships with a wide range of people.
  • High level personal competence in the use of computers (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
