About the role:
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the mission of the Smart Factory Manageris to support the Plant Manager in achieving current operational KPI targets as well as medium-term trends.
This role is a full-time orchestrator of value-adding plant digitalization who knows their plant's current and upcoming operational pain points and opportunities, while also localising a standard roadmap by prioritising local and central requirements and their prerequisites and orchestrating the roadmap implementation.
The SFM ensures continuous smooth progress in digitalisation by owning the bridge that balances the needs and solutions of IT and the Shopfloor.
Also acting as an "influencer" for the adaptation of value-adding digitalisation by the plant, the SFM steers plant digitalisation as an enabler for competitive advantage with respect to operational KPIs in the areas of Safety, Quality, Costs and Efficiency - whilst managing and mitigating risks associated with digitalised processes within production.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Generates buy-in from - and active support of - Plant Managers and Heads of Operations Units (in the plants) for their plant's Digitalisation Roadmap
- Prepares resource budgets for relevant projects and product introductions
- Actively communicates the vision for value-adding digitalisation within the plant
- Ensures clarity with respect to "who needs to do what when", in order to make continuous progress along the roadmap
- Identifies blockers for progress and ensures that they are eliminated
- Monitors progress according to the Digitalization Roadmap, and makes this progress transparent with Usage Rates, and where possible, contributions to operative KPI improvements
- Maintains a strong value-adding network with local key persons as well as other plant’s SFMs
- Project management of plants Smart Factory activities
- Supervision of plants overall Smart Factory roadmap
- Coordination and alignment of activities within the plant with all relevant departments e.g., engineering, IT, Supply Chain, Controlling….
- Coordination and alignment of activities within a global community of Smart Factory (engineering, IT)
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master / Bachelor degree in manufacturing, mechanical/electrical engineering, industrial engineering, process engineering, IT or similar
- Variety of Functions, Variety of Business, General Management Experience)
- 3 years of experience in production and manufacturing processes or
- 3 years of experience in Manufacturing Suite systems
- At least 2 years of experience in Project Management
- Participation in Manufacturing projects
- Negotiation experience to moderate win-win outcomes for all stakeholders
- Experience in leading multidisciplinary work teams
- Experience in participating in multicultural teams
- Networking and interactions skills, experience in international (English speaking) business
- Knowledge of IT Technologies and Infrastructure
- Production Process knowledge
- Direct and functional leadership of people
- Problem Solving Methods
