The primary purpose of this role is to underwrite a sustainable portfolio of business in accordance with the AAL Underwriting Framework, Allianz Standards for Underwriting (ASU) and delegated authority levels.
The Commercial division is Allianz Australia's largest distribution channel whose customers include Commercial, Corporate, and international buyer groups throughout Australia. Within Commercial, the SME Facilities team will provide dedicated servicing to Aon and Marsh for SME Packages and Commercial Motor products transacted via the Aon Vertex and Marsh Gateway Connect.
You'll be responsible for:
- Provide quotations and secure more complex New Business, Renewals, and provide technical support, coaching, and leadership to the region underwriters and the broader Commercial Division team.
- Manage workflows for Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) and Commercial Motor Accounts, such as New Business, Renewals, and Policy Maintenance, to ensure delivery of quality service standards for Key Partners.
- Maintain engagement with Key Partners including attendance in broker offices to further build relationships and partnership.
- Conduct ongoing market intelligence gathering through liaison with Brokers and Reinsurers, reviewing data and assessing risk to ensure facilities remain market leading.
- Underwrite insurance risks in area of responsibility, adhering to underwriting guidelines and standards.
- Extensive experience in an operational, commercial underwriting role in a complex, matrixed general insurance organisation.
- Previous Account management experience with an appetite to move into Underwriting is desired.
- Adept at proactively building and maintaining professional relationships and networks to enhance industry positioning, exchange knowledge and elicit beneficial outcomes.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and ability to optimise business value to customers by delivering high quality services and positive customer experiences to sustain and enhance the customer base.
- Proven deep analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends, and links that inform judgements and solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact, and influence.
