Salary: $66,000 – $76,000 per annum pro rata, + superannuation + salary sacrifice + BENEFITS!
Benefits:
• Accommodation Allowance: $7,800 per annum
• Annual Airfare to Perth return: $1,683.00 (gross) or payable compensation per annum.
• Salary packaging benefits up to grossed up value of $30,000 per annum
• 4 weeks Annual Leave per annum with 17.5% leave loading
Position Overview:
The SEWB Worker at DAHS plays a vital role in providing Social and Emotional Wellbeing support to Aboriginal community members in Derby. Funded by the National Indigenous Australians Agency, this position requires a deep understanding of SEWB, especially within the context of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia.
Responsibilities include:
• Case management, including assessment, intervention, care planning, referrals, and follow-up with SEWB clients and stakeholders.
• Conducting psychoSocial and SEWB education in small group settings.
• Developing, promoting, and implementing support and referral pathways for SEWB clients to access community-based services.
• Advocating for clients to ensure their needs are met by health professionals and relevant agencies.
• Participating in stakeholder meetings for a multidisciplinary approach to client care and service development.
• Promoting the SEWB program positively to staff, clients, and the community.
• Actively engaging in community events supporting the Social and Emotional Wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
• Contributing to program policy and procedure development.
• Ensuring accurate documentation and reporting according to funding guidelines and organizational requirements.
Strong Applicant Attributes:
• Experience in supporting Aboriginal mental health, SEWB, and/or health roles: Demonstrated skills and understanding of challenges faced by Aboriginal communities.
• Delivery of programs and activities for Aboriginal groups: Ability to engage effectively and tailor sessions to community needs.
• Proficiency in case management and advocacy for Aboriginal clients: Strong skills in supporting and navigating complex systems on behalf of clients.
• Strong problem-solving skills: Capacity to analyze issues and adapt interventions effectively.
• Effective organizational and time management abilities: Efficient task prioritization for optimal client support.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
• Aboriginality in accordance with section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA).
• National Police clearance.
• Current "C" Class motor vehicle driver’s license.
• Current Working with Children Clearance.
• First Aid Certificate.
Desirable:
• Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services (Mental Health, Alcohol and other Drugs, Aged Care, or Youth Work) or equivalent qualification.
