About the role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Support Worker to join our team, working at our Munda Mia TC site located in Kalamunda.
The position of Support Worker will provide support and guidance to residents in the context of the Therapeutic Community model by maintaining a supportive and active presence within the community. It will also include providing practical parenting support to mothers, who are resident in the program with their young children.
Due to the nature of this role, in accordance with the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, division 5 section 27 this position is to be occupied by females only.

The position is Level 2- Level 3 $72, 256 – $81, 910 per annum.
This position includes weekend work and some evening work.
The successful candidate will require:
- Understanding of alcohol and other drug use issues.
- Experience in working with consumers experiencing alcohol and other drug use issues.
- Experience in working with and supporting mother’s and children who are in program.
- Demonstrated effective written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of services and community resources relevant to the AOD sector.
- Experience in women’s issues.
- Well-developed time and self-management skills; ability to work with limited supervision.
- Sound computer skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and act with diplomacy and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.
- If you are a person with a lived experience of addiction, we require at least two years abstinence from AOD use at the time of application and a commitment to remain abstinent.
- Full Work Rights, a current Police Clearance, First Aid Certificate, and a Drivers Licence.
