Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement training programs for barista skills, including coffee preparation techniques, customer service, and workplace safety.
- Provide hands-on training and guidance to trainees, ensuring they develop proficiency and confidence in their skills.
- Adapt training methods to meet the diverse needs of our trainees, including young people disengaged from school and individuals with disabilities.
- Serve as a mentor and positive role model, offering encouragement, feedback, and support to help trainees overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
- Collaborate with other team members to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere within the training environment and the cafe.
- Monitor trainee progress and adjust training methods as needed to ensure success.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to training programs, such as record-keeping and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a barista, with a strong understanding of coffee preparation techniques and equipment.
- Passion for working with young people and individuals with disabilities, with a commitment to promoting inclusivity and empowerment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and motivate others.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude, with the ability to support trainees through challenges and setbacks.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to adjust teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each trainee.
