Our client is a Our client is a community focused federal government agency. Due to growth, they are seeking a Social Media Officer to join their Strategic Communications Division. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Social Media, the position is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support, and advice in relation to complex problems. Where required, the role will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
The Social Media team sits within the Media Branch and is responsible for all content published on the client’s Social Media channels. The team owns two key streams of work, Social Media content strategy which includes content creation and advertising and Social Media analytics, listening and reporting.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring, analysing, and reporting on performance and trends across various Social Media platforms, identifying areas for improvement.
- Developing and implementing Social Media strategies that align with the clients’ priorities.
- Contributing towards the management of the day-to day operations of the client’s Social Media platforms, including content sourcing, calendar creation, scheduling, posting, and monitoring
- Coordinating the delivery of a targeted Social Media advertising strategy.
- Leading Social Media intelligence gathering and identifying opportunities for information sharing.
Key skills required for role/s:
- Social media analytics and monitoring experience
- Experience with development of tactical Social Media strategies including Social Media advertising.
- Experience managing Social Media platforms, including content sourcing, calendar creation, scheduling, posting and monitoring.
- Copywriting and editing experience.
Desirable skills to have for the role/s:
- Monitoring and reporting on brand sentiment.
- Experience using Hootsuite platform.
This is a 12-month initial contract with opportunity for extension, based in either Richmond or Geelong. APS6 level role paying $60.26 hourly + Superannuation with the option to have 2 days working from home each week, with the remaining 3 on site.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship
