Seeking a highly organised content professional with strong editorial instincts for a newly created role in the City of Sydney’s Digital Content team.
About the team
The Digital Content team sits within City Communications. We’re responsible for creating multi-format content primarily for the City of Sydney’s social media channels, outdoor screens and websites.
Purpose of this role
This is a newly created role with the primary purpose of aligning our communications across various touchpoints. You’ll be responsible for creating and managing a content calendar to prioritise and schedule our content across channels including: outdoor, social media and websites. You’ll also play a key role in the What’s On team.
A typical day in this role
No two days are the same, but on a given day you might be:
Managing assets in our image library
Assisting a Digital Content specialist on a photo shoot
Creating content for social media channels or outdoor screens
Moderating events on What’s OnPublishing content to social media
Writing articles for our news or What’s On websites
Collating reports
What you’re like
You have great people skills and are confident managing the expectations and demands of stakeholders.You enjoy structure and process and have excellent attention to detail.You’re happy to be in the driver’s seat, making decisions and managing competing content demands.You can switch between tasks easily and handle working on multiple projects at once.You’re interested in content marketing, especially social media. You pay attention to trends.
Selection criteria
An appropriate degree qualification in Marketing or Communications and/or some experience in producing Digital Content and managing competing priorities in a busy, time pressured environment for a complex organisation
Knowledge of contemporary trends, emerging technologies and best practice in Digital Content communications
Experience using current social media platforms, content management systems and social media management tools in a corporate communications environment
Demonstrated experience in managing and working within project teams for the collaborative development of digital campaigns from initial brief to delivery, within agreed timelines and budgets
