A newly created role for genU for a Social Planner has been shaped to allow genU to grow and deliver quality services for our community. This role is to partner with local councils and community groups to collect and research data to ensure that genU can provide the right services to the right people when they need it. This role sits within a new Performance, Quality and Client Experience division!
This is an exciting opportunity to join genU as we proactively plan to grow our community footprint. With a supportive leadership team this role is critical to provide timely and evidence-based data to guide our executives to make meaningful and resonant decisions.
The Social Planner will provide expert advice, data and evidence about the current and future residential and community infrastructure, service needs and priorities of the community, to inform and enact genU's strategic goals.
The Social Planner is responsible for effectively developing plans and strategies to support the delivery of new and expanded infrastructure and services through:

  • Applying an evidence, information and data rich approach to genU service planning across Victoria, Tasmania and broadly across Australia.
  • Provide strong project management to residential, community facility and hub projects through the planning stages and collaboration with others involved in capital and service planning and delivery to create efficiencies and improved community outcomes.
  • Developing community infrastructure planning processes and monitoring a ‘whole of division’ integrated planning approach.
  • Providing specialist advice to the CRP Division on residential and community facility provision, capital investment options and other related place-based planning and project delivery approaches; and more!
This is a full-time, ongoing position. Hybrid work options available.
About You
As the Social Planner, you will be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Degree or post graduate qualification in social policy, urban planning, geography or economics, or related field supported by relevant practical work experience in project management of community infrastructure projects.
  • NDIS Screening Workers Check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate of Completion
  • Proven experience leading community facilities planning projects and influencing evidence-based decisions regarding social infrastructure planning
  • Relevant experience in project management, stakeholder management, policy development and change-management
  • Extensive experience in activities relating to project management of community infrastructure projects including demonstrated skills in contract management, stakeholder management and procurement processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, including demographic analysis, needs analysis and community engagement practices
