  • Permanent, Full time
  • Band 6 range $81,777 - $88,340 p/a plus 10.5% super
  • Hybrid work environment

The Role

Reporting to the Coordinator Health and Social Planning this role leads the identification and response to key social issues, development and trends of established and emerging communities. This includes but is not limited to the areas of gambling harm, alcohol and other drugs, affordable housing and homelessness. The role also contributes to the development, delivery and review of organisational strategies and policies and will monitor and review information and data, presenting this information in appropriate ways to assist the building of knowledge and understanding of the social needs of our community.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated professional with extensive experience in undertaking collection and analysis of social data and evidence to inform decision making and policy development. You will be able to manage projects and facilitate involvement of community members, internal colleagues and other community partners and stakeholders to understand local social needs, resulting in evidence based and best practice responses.

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and some relevant experience or substantial experience in social policy and/or a related field
  • Prior experience in working with community and partner organisations to achieve health and social outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in the collection and analysis of data and information to inform decision making in relation to health or social policy planning.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated experience in managing relationships in a political environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong administrative and organisational skills to support the preparation of information and reports for a range of audiences.
  • Strong competence in the operation of Windows-based programs and other relevant systems.
