This role would engage Social Work staff and students, and other allied health disciplines in clinical education activities. The Educator will work with the Allied Health Clinical Education Lead to create opportunities for interprofessional learning and collaborate extensively, explore innovative educational practices, and identify opportunities for quality improvement activities to ensure clinical practice is enhanced for optimal patient care. The promotion of Best Clinical Practice Clinical Learning Environments (BPCLE) is imperative to support contemporary professional growth and practice. You will be able to engage in multi-modality and multi-media activities, underpinned by adult learning principles.Requirements of this role include:Essential requirements for this role include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Experience in the design, conduct and evaluation of education programs
  • Be abreast of current industry trends, BPCLE and adult learning principles
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Experienced in relationship management
Highly Desirable:
  • Prior experience in delivering simulated education (both high and low fidelity)

1.Facilitates the ongoing running of a comprehensive program aimed at transitioning from student to professional
Promotes innovative, collaborative and sustainable ways of delivering education programmes
2.Is a full contributor to the Allied Health Team and develops strong relationships in the Education sphere both internally and externally
Consideration of new revenue streams for Allied Health Delivers reports on progress as requested by Allied Health Manager, Director and Deputy Director of AH, and Department of Health3.Drives Education Strategy for Allied Health at Peter Mac, including the introduction of new technologiesRepresents Allied Health as requested at internal and external meetings relating to education, training and developmentWorks together with appropriate Managers and/or Directors to build relationships with Universities and Education providersKey Accountabilities (Contd..)4. Keeps the Allied Health workforce abreast of changes in education pedagogy and Evidence based practice
Demonstrates accountability for own professional development and practice
  • Contributes and leads, where appropriate, relationships with VCCC partners in the area of Education
  • Maintains Placeright mandatory data, reporting and submissions
  • Maintains professional development in education specific skills
5. Assists with undergraduate teaching program including mandatory data and reporting
  • Assists with development of new education initiatives
  • Assists with evaluation of education
  • Assists with administrative and technical support of education initiatives
  • Keeps AH clinicians abreast of upcoming education opportunities, both internally and externally eg. Supervision courses
