Role Description
The Social Work Educator will have a proven background in education and teaching along with extensive experience in professional mental health practice to assist the team with providing quality multidisciplinary informed education and program development projects.
This role has practical and strategic dimensions to provide Social Work expertise to the professional education and program development objectives of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Service and promote high standards of allied health practice.

The Team
The Mental Health Professional Development Unit (MHPDU) provides professional leadership to Mental Health clinicians practicing in Bendigo Health by driving mental health workforce innovation in the areas of lived experience, clinical, educational and research interests with development of skills and knowledge consistent with national standards.
The team develops & co-ordinates:
- Education & professional development activities that are relevant to clinical practice with a focus on mental health clinicians of various disciplines and levels (undergraduate & postgraduate)
- Clinical supervision processes that promote reflection on practice with the aim to improve outcomes for patients, clinicians and the organisation
- Development and practical utilisation of mental health research as a mechanism to achieve improvement of mental health service delivery
- The team is also responsible for the monitoring of standards of Mental Health practice within Bendigo Health Mental Health and Wellbeing Services and supports recruitment strategies to ensure the longer-term sustainability of this specialist workforce
