About the role
As a Senior Social WorkerLevel 3 working in the Intensive Care Unit at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, you will be working alongside a colleague in Intensive Care Unit managing and responding to referrals for adjustments to illness, end of life planning, counselling and support. It is expected that the Social Worker have at least 5 years clinical experience from the time of graduation and provide:
- Comprehensive psychological assessments, case management and counselling, offering emotional support to patients and carers.
- Support to patients and carers during their admission with care co-ordination and advocacy.
- Supervision to staff and mentoring to other Social Workers in the Social Work Department.
- Participate in the afterhours roster for RPAH and respond to the hospital within one hour of being called.
We are looking for someone who has..
- A Bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work that provides eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of social work with experience at Level 2 or higher and at least 5 years of clinical experience from the time of graduation.
