About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide senior clinical leadership and team management within Adult Drug Court, Drug Health Services. The position will also support the mentoring and development of staff and carries a clinical caseload. The Social WorkerLevel 4 will be expected to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team with a number of stakeholders, including Justice Health and Downing Centre Local Court, and case manage clients for up to 12 months who have been accepted onto the Adult Drug Court Program.
Drug Health Services (DHS) aims to reduce the harms associated with substance use for individuals, families and communities and to prevent drug misuse. Services are provided at Canterbury, Concord Repatriation General and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals and at Canterbury, Marrickville and Redfern Health Centres. Adult Drug Court (ADC) is a specialised NSW court; a joint justice and health intervention aimed at reducing drug dependency, reducing offending and promoting reintegration into the community. The health component of ADC includes evidence based medical, nursing and psycho-social support for people with drug dependency who are eligible for parole. ADC within SLHD will operate out of Downing Centre providing care for people within Sydney's Inner West.
We are looking for someone who has...
- A Bachelor degree or equivalent in Social Work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of Social Work services in the field of Drug & Alcohol.
- Demonstrated high level organisational, prioritisation and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical/administrative demands.

About working for SLHD
This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2023_022).
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
