St Joseph’s is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced Counsellors or Social Workers to join our school community in a part-time capacity (0.4 FTE). The successful applicant will be working with students from Kindergarten to Year Six. There is the potential for the position to become ongoing.
The commencement date has been advertised as Monday, 3rd June, but is negotiable upon appointment. Working hours can also be negotiated.
Selection Criteria
• Managing the legal, ethical and organisational requirements of a clinical, counselling role within an educational setting (ie, privacy, confidentiality and disclosure).
• The ability to effectively operate as a member of a small community focused school.
• Capacity to work with individuals and small groups, as well as present to larger groups when required.
• A strong work ethic, the ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
• Experience working with children and their families in a mental health, clinical or educational setting (desirable).
Requirements:
Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School (or willingness to work towards).
• Registration with ACA, PACFA or AASW.
• Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling.
• Police Clearance and Working with Children's Check.
