Role Overview:
As an Onsite Counsellor, you will play a pivotal role in providing confidential and professional support to our employees in managing personal and work-related challenges. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Counselling Services: Offering one-on-one counselling sessions to employees dealing with various personal, emotional, and work-related issues. Utilizing active listening and empathy to provide effective support.
- Mental Health Support: Implementing mental health initiatives and programs to promote overall well-being within the workforce. Conducting mental health assessments and providing appropriate interventions.
- Conflict Resolution: Assisting in conflict resolution processes within the workplace, facilitating communication, and fostering healthy working relationships.
- Critical Incident Response: Being available to provide immediate support and debriefing in critical incident situations, such as accidents or traumatic events.
- Educational Workshops: Organizing and facilitating workshops and training sessions on stress management, resilience building, and other relevant topics to enhance employee coping skills.
- Site Roving: Willingness to travel to different sites as required, offering counselling services and support where needed. Flexibility and adaptability are key attributes for this aspect of the role.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Accredited qualification in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Proven experience in providing counselling and support services, preferably in a corporate or industrial setting.
- Registration or membership with relevant professional bodies (e.g., Australian Counselling Association, Australian Psychological Society).
Strong understanding of mental health issues, crisis intervention techniques, and therapeutic approaches. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
