Software and Applications Programmer

Career Path One has an opportunity for a skilled and experienced Software and Applications Programmer to join our team of ICT Professionals. As a Software and Applications Programmer, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining software applications based on the needs of our clients. This role requires strong programming and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Design, develop, and implement software applications and solutions that meet client requirements
Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to gather software requirements and develop technical specifications
Write clean and well-structured code in various programming languages, utilizing best practices and following industry standards
Test and debug software applications to ensure proper functionality and performance
Maintain and update existing software applications, addressing any bugs or issues that arise
Conduct extensive research and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in software development and programming languages
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software applications with existing systems and databases
Provide technical assistance and support to clients and end-users, resolving any software-related issues that arise
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability
Document software development and maintenance activities, including technical specifications, user manuals, and release notes
The applicant must have:
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Computer Application or related qualification
at least 2- 3 years professional experience of serving as a software technical lead throughout the software development cycle
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve software issues
Experience with software testing and debugging tools
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with web development technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
Knowledge of database management systems, such as MySQL or Oracle
Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or Azure, is a plus
