About the Role:
Joining our small but mighty engineering team, you’ll play a big part in the platform's growth by building and deploying features, contributing to the code base and ensuring a brilliant engineering culture is developed. You’ll join a team who have a culture of getting things done and who are customer first with their development.
It’s a scrappy engineering culture and to quote one of the team, “I always want people to think about the purpose behind why we do things. Dont do things that dont make sense, dont write a card for the sake of it if no one’s going to see it”
Being an early-stage team, you’ll naturally be asked to work with multiple areas of the business to understand needs and gather requirements. This also means that along with your teammates, you’ll be expected to own your deliverables end to end. You’ll find a team that focuses on collaborating and sharing our thinking about customers and features while finding the time to get into some deep work.
We currently have offices in Melbourne & Berlin and embrace hybrid working arrangements, there’s no set days you need to be in, but we do believe in the power of connection and being together at times.
Job Description
You’ll be a brilliant team member by:
Thinking about and developing solutions to previously unsolved problems.
Reducing unnecessary labour through automation to improve both operational and engineering efficiency.
Contributing to our shared knowledge base through high-quality technical documentation.
Taking ownership of your build tasks and seeing things through to completion, including non-coding tasks.
Setting and improving existing standards for development practices.
Contributing to the development of a high-quality engineering culture by participating in code reviews and assisting other team members.
Collaborating with other areas of business such as operations, customer success and even end users.
Qualifications
Experience and Qualifications
Contemporary cloud systems - Essential. AWS is preferred, but we’re open to people from GCP or Azure backgrounds. In return, you’d need to be comfortable with upskilling in AWS.
Backend (Node.js)- Essential
Frontend (React) - Essential
Serverless systems experience such as DynamoDB, S3, SQS and Lambdas - Essential
Programming language - Typescript / Javascript - Essential
Step Functions experience is also valuable.
Commercial experience in an early-stage engineering team building SaaS products would be highly desirable but not 100% essential.
