ROLE OVERVIEWAs the
Software Development Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery, budget, and timelines of projects, ensuring effective communication between the development/agile team and the management/governance layer. Your role involves removing impediments and blockers outside the agile team's remit to ensure smooth project execution.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING- Lead the delivery of the business case.
- Empower and support the Scrum Master, resolving escalated issues.
- Manage UI and UX Design activities and transition implementation to the agile team.
- Handle risk and issue management, escalating to Program Manager or senior business/technical roles when necessary.
- Conduct project planning and scheduling, creating detailed project time and cost estimates, and initiating project documentation.
- Manage project budget, governance, and reporting.
- Coordinate with other departments and teams to set up team logistics and development infrastructure.
- Communicate with senior management and project governance authorities as required.
- Monitor organizational change management activities.
- Collaborate with PMO to set up project management tools and processes.
- Ensure all reporting is conducted using the designated project management tool.
- Manage deployment preparation activities and project closure tasks.
MORE ABOUT YOU- Minimum of 5 years of Project Management
- Experience in complex ICT environments, preferably within the government sector, reporting to senior management and executives.
- Formal project management methodology experience required, such as PRINCE2 or PMBOK.
- Proven agile project management and scrum master experience, including sprint planning, review, and retrospective sessions.
- Ability to control scope changes and liaise effectively with stakeholders, especially Product Owners.
- Experience managing the full project life cycle from planning to operational support hand-over.
- Proficiency in managing multi-functional teams across Business Analysis, Architecture, Development, and Testing.
- Extensive experience in managing Software Development and/or COTS implementation projects.
- Hands-on experience in managing project finances and delivering projects within approved budgets.
