The Role
Reporting into the Lead Cloud Engineer, the Software Engineer will be responsible for the development and improvement of our industry-disrupting software solutions. You will work in small cross-functional teams to deliver several of our hosted software solutions based on Python and AWS Serverless architecture. Collaborating with our Data Science and Commercial and Partnerships teams you have an great opportunity to leverage your software development skills on bleeding edge technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance, make architectural decisions, and set coding standards.
- Build scalable, efficient software applications.
- Conduct code reviews to maintain high-quality software.
- Oversee deployment and manage cloud resources.
- Plan, schedule, and manage resources for projects.
- Lead problem resolution and debugging.
- Stay updated with industry trends and integrate new technologies.
Required Competencies
- Solid background in software development, architecture, and project management.
- Proficient in software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Knowledgeable in DevOps, CI/CD, Git, and Docker.
- Proficient in essential AWS services like Lambda, ECS, S3, and IAM.
- Skilled in designing, deploying, and managing applications on AWS.
- Understand AWS networking and security best practices.
- Experienced with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Strong in Python for backend development and automation
