Software Install Engineer

The Honeywell Software Centre develops state of the art networked building automation and digital video surveillance solutions that run on Microsoft platforms.  Recognised as a leader in the development of innovative and quality software we use the latest development methodologies and tools and maintain a strong ongoing commitment to Quality Systems.

You will be part of a team of software engineers responsible for the development of Honeywell’s Building products.  These products are exported worldwide through Honeywell’s global businesses.

What You’ll do:

As a Software Install Engineer, you will be responsible for a variety of intermediate level engineering responsibilities.

Key Experience & Capabilities:

  • Uses broad knowledge of engineering discipline, processes and tools in order to complete various project subtasks.
  • Performs varied/multiple technical assignments.
  • Works on developments performing all tasks that constitute the software lifecycle.
  • Works mostly under the direction of an experienced Software Engineer.
  • May interact with internal customers and team members in order to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications.
  • Innovating our development processes to ensure that we remain customer aligned
  • Reviewing code from other developers and constructively giving improvement suggestions and advice
  • Being an advocate for high quality solutions that adhere to Honeywell security standards.

Qualifications and Experience :

  • 2+ years software engineering experience using InstallShield.

Essential

  • Experience delivering high quality software solutions, using modern tools and techniques
  • Experience with Software Installation development tools

Highly Valued

  • Dev Ops build/deployment experience
  • Experience in developing software using;

•                  InstallShield

•                  JavaScript, Visual Basic Script

•                  Powershell

•                  Visual Studio .Net C#, C++

Beneficial

  • Experience with Agile development, CI/CD, unit and automation testing.
  • Advanced debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience creating performant and scalable software designs
  • Understanding of software-based security concepts
  • Experience with Atlassian tools eg. JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo
