The Role
As a Solar Design Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in the entire project lifecycle, from conception to operation. You'll work closely with development, construction, and operations teams to design efficient and innovative solar PV systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and optimise solar PV systems for rooftop and utility-scale installations.
- Conduct site assessments, shading analysis, and energy yield calculations.
- Develop detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and single-line diagrams.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to meet regulatory requirements and project objectives.
- Perform technical evaluations of equipment and components for solar projects.
- Support project managers during construction and commissioning phases.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
- Proven experience in solar PV system design, with a focus on rooftop and utility-scale projects.
- Proficiency in PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, or similar design software.
- Strong understanding of electrical principles and grid connection requirements.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations in the solar industry.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
