THE COMPANY
An Australian division of an impressive, established public technology company with revenue of AUD$6B+ operating for over 30 years and 50,000 employees. The company owns and manages a suite of cutting-edge Australian technology brands.
THE ROLE:
- Sole Legal Counsel for Australia and New Zealand
- Permanent, full-time with flexible working arrangements, including the option to work from home 2-3 days per week.
- Brisbane CBD office location
- Reporting to the Australian CEO with a dotted line to the Global General Counsel
- Start Date: ASAP
- Number of staff in Australia: 100
- You will be responsible for providing legal advice, including: -
- Negotiating and drafting contracts, including NDAs, software license agreements, SaaS agreements, professional service agreements, supplier contracts, distribution agreements,
- Reviewing and advising on legal terms related to tenders.
- Development of precedents and internal contracting procedures promoting legal compliance and reducing legal risk
- Advise and implement company compliance programs, including privacy law, modern slavery law, security of critical infrastructure laws, employment law, Intellectual Property
- Contract administration – ensuring contractsare recorded and documentation catalogued. Including the implementation of the contract management system
ABOUT YOU
- You hold a current Australian Legal Practicing certificate.
- Have at least eight years of post-qualification experience, with a minimum of 2 years in-house.
- You can work 3 days a week from the Brisbane CBD office.
- IT software and hardware experience is essential.
- Experience in both State procurement processes, including reviewing and negotiating Government contracts and private enterprise procurement mechanisms, is preferred. .
- You possess strong commercial negotiation and drafting skills.
- You have excellent interpersonal, motivational, ethical, analytical, judgment, and communication skills.
