Job description

At 1836 Conveyancing we pride ourselves on providing fantastic service for our clients, and making what is potentially the largest purchase of anybody’s life a smooth and stress-free experience. We have extensive experience in all facets of conveyancing-including residential and commercial property settlements, subdivisions, matrimonial transfers, and Contract & Form 1 preparation.

This role would primarily see you assisting our Registered Conveyancers with file management and general administration tasks, with Part Time hours (20-30 per week) to be agreed upon with the successful applicant. 

About you: 

Ideally you will be friendly and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude. You will be capable of working efficiently both by yourself and in a team environment, and will have a high level of organisational and time management skills. You will need to have a strong willingness to learn, with all required training to be provided on the job.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for anybody currently studying an Advanced Diploma of Conveyancing to gain practical experience in the conveyancing industry, with progression within the company attainable for the successful candidate. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting our Registered Conveyancers to manage settlement files from start to finish
  • Liaising with clients, other conveyancers, banks, mortgage brokers and real estate agents to ensure settlements progress according to schedule 
  • Preparing Adjustment Statements & Settlement Statements
  • Creating and progressing PEXA workspaces
  • Drafting documents-Contracts, Form 1’s, subdivision documents & other LTO documents 
  • General administration tasks as required

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite-Word, Excel & Outlook
  • A friendly, enthusiastic demeanour 
  • Ability to prioritise tasks & work under pressure
  • Accuracy & attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational & time management skills
  • A willingness to learn
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships both within the office and with clients

What would also be helpful:

  • Previous experience within the conveyancing/legal/real estate industries
  • Familiarity with PEXA, CATS software & SAILIS
