The Pilbara Community Legal Service's (PCLS) vision is to empower the people of the Pilbara region to manage their lives effectively by providing accessible, equitable, responsible, and culturally appropriate advice, support, and advocacy.
What we do
PCLS is a not-for-profit, government funded community organisation that provides a range of free services which include:
- legal advice
- financial counselling
- tenancy advocacy, family violence, disability and redress advocacy and support services
- migration settlement and transition services.
Position duties and responsibilities
Working alongside the Principal Solicitor, you will be responsible for providing legal services, including:
- family law, care and protection matters,
- family violence restraining orders,
- criminal injuries compensation
- court representation,
- legal information and advice,
- casework, and
- community legal education.
Essential Selection Criteria
- Admitted to practice in WA, or working toward admission
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office programs and other software,
- High level interpersonal and written communication skills,
- A strong commitment to social justice,
- Great research and problem-solving skills through effective case management,
- Ability to travel within the region including overnight stays.
