Recently relocating to Somersby NSW from Sydney to enable expansion of operations, Alliance Metal Solutions are seeking an experience SolidWorks / AutoCAD Draftsman to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have CAM experience in sheet metal.

Starting out with two machines and a whole lot of grit 17 years ago, owners Shane Blewden and Sean Carragher have grown Alliance Metal Solutions to a large sheet metal manufacturer serving industries Australia wide, including construction, telecommunications, mining, energy, agriculture, FMCG and medical.  Our services include product design, tube laser cutting, flat bed laser cutting, turret punching, plasma cutting, MIG/TIG welding, CNC machining, assembly and powder coating.

The Position

As a SolidWorks / AutoCAD Draftsman with us you will be responsible for:

• interpreting client drawings and specifications to understand project requirements;
• using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to produce 2D and 3D models from customer supplied drawings, architectural drawings or project specifications to provide a detailed visual of the end product;
• proactively identifying product design enhancements to better meet product objectives, to optimise for more efficient manufacture or to reduce cost to deliver improved client outcomes;
• providing cost estimates for manufacture;
• engaging with clients via phone and email, and managing long term client relationships for mutual success;
• programming projects for fabrication;
• engaging with production staff to overcome manufacturing issues arising from design as required. 

To be successful, the applicant must:

• be experienced with SolidWorks;
• be able to work on a daily basis at our office in Somersby, NSW.
