Network Assets & Assurance (NA&A) team at Metro includes more than 2000 people from Infrastructure, Innovation, Engineering, Rolling Stock, OCMS, Strategic Asset Management and Planning and Integration.

The NA&A team manage the change to the network - ensuring that the asset outcome is safe, reliable and sustainable, both today and into the future. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The role of the Solution Architect within the MTM Enterprise domain, is to understand the organisational business requirements, existing IT systems and platforms, and designing end-to-end solutions that balanced the organisation's overall IT strategy and goals with the immediate needs of the delivery of in-flight projects. It is expected that the Solution Architect will work across one or more projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand Business Requirements including business processes, user needs, data requirements, and non-functional requirements (e.g. Security/Scalability/Reliability).
• Translate and trace business needs into technical solutions. Providing MTM with valid options that balance commercial, technical, strategic and time constraints into feasible solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and expertise, in relation to technology choices, potential risks and benefits. The ability to communicate technical concepts in to all non-technical and technical stakeholders to ensure that implications of solutions so that informed decisions can be made.
• Lead and deliver improvements to the cyber security posture of the critical systems, in conjunction with the OCMS cyber security and associated teams
• Engage with the relevant enterprise and domain architects to define and ensure alignment of solutions with the overall architecture and strategy within the specific Enterprise domain.
• Support the creation of governance, assurance, standards and principles to improve architectural decision making within the practice.

ABOUT YOU

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
• Five or more years in demonstrable experience in Solution Architect with a minimum of two years within the specific domain.
• Expertise in the design and delivery of enterprise systems such as Asset and Fault Management, ERP, HCM, Integration, Content Management, and Information Management.
• Experience in the delivery of solutions across multiple hosting capabilities such as Internal, Cloud, Hybrid and Co-location, leverage SaaS, IaaS, PaaS and Managed Hosting concepts.
• Strong expertise in system integration patterns, principles and technologies including the definition of APIs. Ideally with experience across multiple integration systems and applications
