As a Solution Architect, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and implementing innovative technology solutions to revolutionise our systems landscape. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape an entire company-wide systems ecosystem, from inception to operation. You'll collaborate closely with software and network engineering teams to integrate ABB's future state technology, utilising the latest design patterns and cutting-edge technologies.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Proven experience as a Solution Architect or in a similar role.
Strong hands-on expertise in system design, integration, and software development.
Proven experience of implementing solutions leveraging TM Forum Open Digital Architecture.
Deep understanding of ODA Production Domain (Service Catalogue, Service Order Management, Service Qualification, Service Inventory, Service Assurance, Service Quality Management, Change Management, Incident and Problem Management) capabilities and solutions.
Hands-on implementation experience of TMForum and MEF Open APIs function and sequencing.
Demonstrated experience in Service Oriented Architecture, Event-Driven Architecture and API First. Thorough understanding of choreography led or orchestration led design.
Deep understanding of the Telco Industry requirements, COTS & SaaS solutions, and architecture best practices.
In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture principles and practices.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Good understanding of network technologies used to deliver data, voice, and unified communications services.
TOGAF and Cloud Certified Solution Architect certifications are desirable.
As our Solution Architect (OSS), you will put our values up in lights by delivering these activities and outcomes:
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and analyse their requirements, translating them into effective and scalable technical solutions using existing or new capabilities.
Understand the overall business strategy and direction of the organisation.
Understand and co-own the technology reference architecture for the organisation to align all the solutions.
Conduct options analysis and provide recommendations based on technology and business considerations.
Design detailed solutions for TMF ODA Production Domain (Service Catalogue, Service Order Management, Service Qualification, Service Inventory, Service Assurance, Service Quality Management, Change Management, Incident and Problem Management) capabilities to meet business requirements. Solution architecture must encompass– system design, data architecture, integrations, and security considerations, allowing the Software Architects to focus on the technical execution and challenges of building, integrating, and implementing those software systems.
Develop and communicate OpenAPI Specification aligning with TMF and MEF standards to support the solution integration.
Collaborate with Software and Network Engineering teams to create technical specifications and documentation.
Work closely with System Owners, Software/Network Architects and Developers to ensure seamless implementation of solutions.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for solution architectures, including system diagrams, integration, and technical requirements specifications.
Contribute to the decision-making process for whether we should build or buy technology capabilities, requiring a strong understanding of software development and COTS solutions.
Understand key technology options in the market, and how we can compose a landscape that will support the business objectives.
Assess different technology solutions and vendors and make appropriate recommendations based on the needs of the organisation.
Draft Key Architecture Decisions and Key Design Decisions to align with Enterprise and Solution governance process.
Communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation including Executives to Developers.
