We are looking for a full-time Sous Chef to join our team.
Reporting to the Head Chef, you will assist in managing the daily operations of the kitchen, including cost control, rostering, prep and service.
With the Head Chef, you will assist with implementing processes and skills training within your kitchen, to guarantee the highest quality, creativity and customer satisfaction. You will motivate and provide guidance to the kitchen team, working with them collectively to develop, trial test, and implement contemporary, innovative dishes, with a focus on Local, Seasonal and Sustainable pruduce.
About You
- Experience is essential, with 3 years experience in events catering or in a similar role
- Knowledge of local and global cuisine trends
- Exceptional communication and immaculate presentation
- Strong people management skills
- Demonstrate positive attitude and genuine interest in the day to day operations
- Understanding of Food Safety and OH&S standards and compliance
- Experience in effectively maintaining and managing set ups, changeovers, closedown and handover to standard
- Use correct techniques and follow procedures and recipes when preparing and cooking menu items
- Excellent attention to detail
- Outstanding time management during preparation and service periods
- Calm and composed demeanour
- Qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience
- Availability to work events including nights and weekends
