We currently have a newly created opportunity to join our Range Planning team as a Space Planner. This exciting role will see the successful candidate responsible for optimising both micro (shelf) & macro (floor) store space through analysis & store design. You will be instrumental in the development and implementation of space management strategies, and will have the satisfaction of quickly seeing the positive impact of your solutions in stores.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work with the merchandise team in regards to scheduling updated planograms in line with Range Review schedule and market and category trends to deliver market leading solutions
- Review, optimise & select ranges in conjunction with category teams
- Identify gaps in the existing Space Management process and provide tailored solutions in line with the over-arching business strategy, and to drive continual improvement in our use of space
- Manage project work associated with space planning and transform sites through effective planning and working with stakeholders to deliver clear outcomes that will shape future transformational growth opportunities
- Work closely with Property & Operations teams and integrate feedback into the development process to maintain a high standard of space utilisation strategies.
To be successful in this busy & often autonomous role, you will have the following skills:
- Detailed and thorough understanding of best practice in space management processes
- High level experience with Space Planning software at both shelf & floor level (JDA/Blue Yonder preferred, Apollo, Spaceman)
- Must be capable of operating independentally, managing workload & deadlines with competing priorities
- High attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience in an Auto or General Merchandise retail environment, with Visual Presentation experience preferable
- Strong understanding of product adjacency in a retail setting
- Proven success in both Space & Project Management
- Highly analytical in your approach, with an inquisitive mind that balances passion for perfection with flexibility to reach the best outcome for both business and customer
- Ability to deliver in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
- The ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Strong understanding of the practical implications of decisions made during layout creation
- Sound problem solving skills, and the ability to think outside the square
- Strong stakeholder relationship building & influencing skills
- Strong computer skills, particularly Excel & interaction with databases within a Space Management environment
