Seeking a casual Art & Design Teacher to join our Team at Monash College. Work alongside passionate educators and highly motivated students to assist with teaching into our Spatial Design unit.

About the role

As a Spatial Design Skills LAB teacher, you will lead students in their graphical and software skills that support their main studio class content.

This role aims to guide students in mastering Spatial Design by helping them develop design proposals, utilise Rhino 7 / 8 and Adobe Creative Cloud, engage with key concepts of space inhabitation, document their processes effectively, and understand occupational health and safety practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver workshops that comprehensively cover the key learning objectives of the unit, ensuring students gain practical skills and theoretical knowledge.
  • Foster discussions, critiques, and collaborative activities to deepen students' understanding and application of design concepts.
  • Mentor students in preparing design proposals that address project briefs, considering various design aspects and utilising CAD software proficiently for 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Guide students in exploring concepts related to space inhabitation, helping them grasp the significance of these concepts in interior architecture.
  • Support students in documenting their design processes using a range of media, emphasising the importance of clear and concise communication.
  • Educate students on occupational health and safety regulations relevant to Spatial Design practice, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.

About You

With relevant degree or professional experience in Spatial Design, coupled with adeptness in CAD software for 2D and 3D drawing (Rhino 7 / 8 and Adobe Creative Cloud), you seamlessly integrate design principles into your proposals.

Your commitment to student learning, demonstrated through teaching experience, embodies creativity and critical thinking, supported by excellent communication skills and your dedication to safety ensures a secure learning environment.

As a Spatial Design Teacher, you'll guide students in proposal development, CAD proficiency, and exploration of graphical communication. Your passion for teaching will inspire students to excel in Spatial Design.
