The Role
Due to growth in their Sydney office, they are looking for a Special Counsel to join their Financial Lines team. You will join a close-knit team that has several Senior Associates and Associates at varying levels, and you will play an active role in supporting the partners and mentoring junior team members.
The Team
The financial lines team are responsible for advising insurers on claims against Financial Institutions. They pride themselves on carefully balancing the interests of the financial institution, investors, and insurers to deliver the best possible result. The team cover the full scope of matters including professional indemnity, directors’ and officers’ liability, crime/fidelity, and banker’s blanket bond.
Requirements
- At least 7+ years’ post admission experience;
- A desire to work on complex matters and advise on insurance coverage issues including policy interpretation, professional indemnity, infrastructure disputes and large commercial disputes;
- The ability to manage client expectations and advise on policy issues with a practical client focused approach;
- The ability to run matters autonomously in a dynamic team environment; and
- A willingness to engage in the development of junior team members.
