Your new role
As the Special Counsel, you will play a crucial role in leading the legal team, ensuring high levels of compliance, client service, and team development. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the work of lawyers and file handlers, providing supervision, guidance, and training.
- Managing complex legal matters with a focus on civil litigation, particularly in motor vehicle property damage recovery and credit hire car claims.
- Autonomous management of a file load, including case planning, development, and management.
- Delivering high-quality legal advice and representation to our clients.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and engaging in partnership development activities.
- Mentoring and supervising a team of solicitors and paralegals to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
What you'll need to succeed
You are an ambitious leader, known for your support, coaching, and mentoring skills. With a strategic approach to problem-solving, you are adept at assessing risks and identifying optimal solutions. Your ability to think objectively and from various perspectives makes you an invaluable asset to our team.
- A minimum of 4 years post-admission experience.
- A current unrestricted practicing certificate.
- A Law degree from an Australian tertiary institution, or a comparable overseas qualification with admission in Australia as a legal practitioner.
- Previous experience in motor vehicle insurance litigation and/or credit hire car claims is highly desirable.
