The Opportunity
Join our passionate Northern Specialist Family Violence Service (NSFVS) team who are leading the way for integrated Family Violence services in the Northern Metropolitan sub-region.
Victim Survivors and their children's needs are at the forefront for our Family Violence Team. Our key purpose is to ensure they can remain safely within their community and maintain a life free of violence. Our services support victim survivors of Family Violence and their children inclusive of cis gendered heterosexual women and, their children; and people from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer Community (LGBTIQA+) and their children.
As the Specialist Family Violence Team Leader in the Crisis Response team you will provide supervision, support and consultation to staff. You will be required to liaise with your team of practitioners and emergency accommodation providers to find appropriate accommodation for victim survivors and their children.
You will work alongside a like minded leadership group to provide the best possible service for people experiencing Family Violence. At times, the role will be required to respond to victim survivors with complex needs and provide other operational duties as required.
Your skills and experience
A minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or recent employment in the Family Violence sector or equivalency met through the 7 Equivalency Principles in line with the minimum mandatory qualification requirements. The specialised level of this role will require the ability to be able to reflect and analyse complex situations arising in Specialist Family Violence casework and the commitment to working collaboratively with the capacity to negotiate and liaise with other agencies and the community.
