About the role
The Fixed Plant Maintenance team is currently seeking a Specialist - Mechanical Maintenance based in Perth CBD. As part of the broader Labour and Maintenance (L&M) team, you will be responsible for managing key categories within the Fixed Plant Maintenance portfolio for Iron Ore. You will work closely with internal business and procurement stakeholders and form strong partnerships with our key contract partners.
We are looking for a highly driven and commercially astute individual, who has a desire to deliver value within the portfolio, minimise risk for Rio Tinto and deliver innovative contract management solutions.

Reporting to the Principal - Fixed Plant Maintenance, you will:
- Demonstrate strong teamwork, with a focus on contributing to a respectful and empowering culture whilst delivering excellence
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional working groups to deliver against L&M's strategic priorities
- Establish long term, sustainable relationships with key suppliers, based on innovation, sustainability, and mutual value creation
- Undertake the day-to-day contract management activities in support of Rio Tinto's key supply partnerships
- Provide support with managing supplier activities and assist with identifying new value opportunities for the business
- Conduct Contractor Performance Meetings (CPMs) for your portfolio's suppliers
