About the Role


We are currently seeking a multi-disciplined Specialist Trainers with experience in MineStar and /or Front Runner to join the WA Asset Projects Autonomous Haulage Team. This is an exciting opportunity for safety focused individuals, who demonstrate a proactive approach to mentoring employees. These roles will be pivotal in the scoping of Autonomy competencies current state and helping to develop a robust training strategy and plan for the project teams to be successful moving forward, as well as delivering a high level of MineStar and Front Runner Autonomy Training. Ideally candidates will have the ability to work across both Perth and site locations as the projects needs change.

  • Autonomous Mining Trainer Assessor
  • Autonomous Operator Experience
  • MineStar Field Builder / FrontRunner Pit Patroller
  • AH Mine Control / AH System Building
  • Autonomous Mobile Maintenance (Calibration Pad, Fuel Bullet, Mode Change)

In this role you will be required to

  • Drives business improvement through the measurement of BHP's performance.
  • Designs and delivers training plans, trains and assesses operators and improves training programs to maintain safety, compliance and performance during mining operations.
  • Supports the management of vendor/customer selection, contracts, and performance to maximise operational and financial outcomes and mitigate BHP's exposure to risk.
  • Translates corporate objectives into actionable plans, communicating, managing and analysing the implementation of those plans, and reporting back on their progress to facilitate the delivery of our strategy.
  • Sources information, plans and conducts analyses to support evidence based decision making.
  • Designs and implements governance/assurance practices and Management of Change procedures to control value outcomes across BHP.
About You

We have a strong focus on finding individuals with the right values, leadership capability, collaboration and communication skills. In addition to demonstrated ability to consolidate and analyse information, you will have the skills and knowledge to provide critical thinking and a solution-focused attitude.

As the successful candidate, ideally you will hold one of the following minimum level nationally recognized skill set or certification in assessing.

  • Enterprise Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00015)

  • Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011 or TAESS00019)

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessing (TAE40110, TAE40116 or TAE40122)

  • Diploma of Vocational Education and Training

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Strong communication and relationship management skills

  • MineStar Command or Front Runner Experience

  • Prior exposure in open cut mining

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement

  • Minimum C Class Driver's license unrestricted is essential

  • Autonomous Pit Permit preferred

  • Experience in the following and or operating two or more of the following Surface Mobile Equipment or equivalent:

  • Liebherr 9400, 9600 or 996 Excavators

  • CAT 980, 992, 994 or WA1200 Loaders

  • CAT D10, D11 Track Dozers

  • CAT 16, 18 or 24 H/M Graders

  • CAT 854K Wheel Dozers
