Specimen Collector (Phlebotomist)

About The Role:

• Casual positions available 
• Collect pathology specimens from patients in our collection rooms, hospitals and as part of domiciliary services within the North West region
• Store and process pathology specimens
• Patient reception and response to client enquiries
• Record patient information
• Attend to the well-being of patients
• Liaise with patients and referring doctors
• Use of laboratory application software 

* This is not a courier position

Selection Criteria:      

1. Flexible availability to work Monday to Friday, weekends and public holidays at short notice
2. Able to commit to an intensive training program for up to 6 weeks full time in Burnie
3. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated commitment to service excellence
4. Exceptional skills in applying attention to detail
5. The ability to work co‑cooperatively and encouragingly within a team
6. Proven ability to act independently within established guidelines, demonstrating initiative and sound judgement
7. A current unrestricted Australian driver's licence
8. Provision of (or ability to obtain) a WWVP card and a satisfactory current police check 
9. Previous phlebotomy experience will be considered an advantage
