Flinders Medical Centre are looking for a Speech Pathologist to join the team and help make a difference working within the RAP Division in SALHN!
About the Role:
This AHP1 Speech Pathologist will be part of the wider RAP Speech Pathology team and have opportunity for growth within a supportive interdisciplinary workforce. Inpatient Rehab will be the main area of work, however rotation to GEM and other areas of Rehab, Aged and Palliative Care will be an option into the future to ensure a well-rounded approach to sub-acute care. The role is accountable to the Director of Speech Pathology and for the provision of Speech Pathology services which result in improved care and outcomes for patients and contribute to the efficient, effective, evidence based, multidisciplinary patient management. As a highly skilled and competent clinician, the incumbent delivers quality services and provides clinical leadership by overseeing, monitoring and providing support and supervision to Allied Health Assistants and Speech Pathology students.
About you:
- An appropriate degree of equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of Speech Pathology Association of Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to assess adult patients with swallowing and communication problems and determine appropriate management and advice.
- Demonstrated ability to formulate appropriate goals and implement programs for patients with communication problems for neurological origins.
- Organizational ability, flexibility, awareness of stress management issues and willingness to participate in appropriate staff development and education activities.
