Flinders Medical Centre are looking for a Speech Pathologist to join the team and help make a difference in Southern Adelaide's local community!
About the Role:
The AHP2 Speech Pathologist will be working as part of an interdisciplinary team in in-patient Rehab. The role encompasses a Saturday component working 0.2FTE with associated penalty rates. The extra 0.1FTE will be offered during the week to allow for handover and connection with the weekday team. The role is accountable to the Director of Speech Pathology and for the provision of Speech Pathology services which result in improved care and outcomes for patients and contribute to the efficient, effective, evidence based, multidisciplinary patient management. As a highly skilled and competent clinician, the incumbent delivers quality services and provides clinical leadership by overseeing, monitoring and providing support and supervision to AHP1 Speech Pathologists, Allied Health Assistants and Speech Pathology students.
About you:
- An appropriate degree of equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of Speech Pathology Association of Australia.
- Previous experience in assessment, treatment and management of swallowing and communication disorders in an adult population at an equivalent level.
- Recent clinical experience in an inpatient aged care/rehabilitation setting.
- Demonstrated ability to assess adult patients with swallowing and communication problems and determine appropriate management and advice.
- Demonstrated ability to formulate appropriate goals and implement programs for patients with communication problems of neurological origin.
