The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Speech Pathologist - Senior (Mental Health - Continuing Care Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide a comprehensive and flexible speech pathology service to young people and their family/carers
- Demonstrate integrated knowledge and skills regarding communication and standard Mental Health processes, assessments and intervention
- Possess a high standard of professional conduct and ongoing high levels of energy and commitment to work collaboratively as a senior member of a multidisciplinary team
- Provide clinical support to other Speech Pathologists and clinical practice supervision to speech pathology students within the Health Service
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A tertiary degree in Speech Pathology
- Blue Card (Qld Health will meet the cost)
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary part time (6 months, with the possibility of extension, 45.60 hrs p.f)
- Base salary ranging from $62.75 - $67.53 per hour

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service Continuing Care Team is a multi-disciplinary, multi-specialty team within the Gold Coast, operating across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service to provide multi-specialty Mental Health intervention to children and young people (0-18 years).
