Job description

Deliver high quality and contemporary Speech Pathology services in the Rehabilitation and Acute Stroke unit and sub-acute units of The Prince Charles Hospital, as required.

About the role

This position delivers high quality and contemporary Speech Pathology services in the Rehabilitation and Acute Stroke unit and sub-acute units of The Prince Charles Hospital, as required. This is a clinical leadership position responsible for providing and promoting integrated, holistic services in accordance with professional standards, best practice and current evidence-base. There is a requirement to function to a high level within the multidisciplinary and speech pathology teams and support patient care to achieve optimal service delivery.

  • Clinical Expertise: Demonstrated high level of knowledge, expertise and skill in contemporary speech pathology clinical practice in rehabilitation.
  • Communication/Team Participation: Demonstrated ability to communicate and participate effectively in the speech pathology and interprofessional teams, including the ability to provide high level clinical advice to supervisors, key service managers and stakeholders and with an ability to address and manage conflict.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to provide supervision, training and support to less experienced practitioners and students.
  • Quality Improvement: Demonstrated ability to initiate, plan and evaluate local service improvement initiatives through continuous quality improvement or research projects, enhancing outcomes for patients.
