Access theAbout the roleThis role delivers high quality, evidence based, speech pathology clinical services and leadership as a member of a multidisciplinary, community adult mental health team supporting consumers, their carers, and relevant stakeholders with clinical care and therapeutic interventions aiding in recovery and rehabilitation.The key responsibilities of the role are:
- Delivering high quality, evidence based outpatient speech pathology assessments and interventions and treatment to adult consumers of the mental health service.
- Contribute to the advancement of speech pathology services and optimal clinical outcomes, through provision of service development, quality improvement, and clinical education.
- High level knowledge, expertise and skills in managing an allocated workload to deliver speech pathology clinical services, including assessment, intervention and evaluation within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with established clinical & departmental protocols, policies and procedures, utilising evidence-based practice and ethical standards.
- Ability to liaise and work effectively in a professional manner with clients and their carers, other health professionals, students, and external agencies to achieve a client centred approach, utilising negotiation, and conflict resolution skills as required.
- Ability to provide high level general and profession specific clinical advice to clinical leaders, team leaders and other multidisciplinary team members within the service, and to external community-based providers supporting consumer care.
- Ability to continually develop clinical practice knowledge, skills and expertise through self-directed learning, active learning within a team environment and engaging in professional development activities, including participating in the performance appraisal and development plans.
- Experience in the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of quality and service improvement and/or research activities that enhance the delivery of speech pathology services.

- Possession of a tertiary degree or equivalent in Speech Pathology is mandatory.
