About this Opportunity
The College is looking for a skilled Sports Development Officer, who has a passion for improving student pathways, increasing opportunities, performance, and sustainability in women’s sport. As a dynamic and supportive coordinator of sport programs, you will use your skills to boost the Loreto Coorparoo brand and offerings.
This is a Full-time role that allows some flexibility in working hours as needed for the delivery of the College’s sporting programs. The full-time role of thirty-eight (38) hours will be worked from Tuesday to Friday with normal hours between 8.00am and 4.06pm, Saturday hours of 8am to 12pm and Thursday evening hours of 4.00pm to 9.00pm.
This position is part of a diverse team of three (3) including the Head of Sport and Sports Administrator.
As a member of the Co-curricular Sport team, you’ll get to work with our Business, Pastoral, Program and Curriculum Leaders, to contribute to activities that have a lasting, positive impact on the education and support of our students, staff, and their families. The College is excited to introduce Years 5 and 6 in 2025 and the Sports Development Officer will also contribute to sports across Years 5 to 12.
The role of the Sports Development Officer includes (but is not limited to):
- Program - Support the Head of Sport to develop and implement Club and Representative Sports development programs and initiatives that aim to increase student participation and engagement in sports across all year levels and abilities.
- Administration – Manage administrative tasks related to Club and Representative sports programs and events, including registration of teams, booking of venues, arranging transportation, and ordering and coordination of team uniforms.
- Communication – Preparation and compilation of sports results, reports, updates including photographs and achievements, regularly via college communication mediums and in consultation with the Community Engagement Team.
- Other Duties - Model appropriate sporting behaviours to students, parents/carers, and staff. Collaborate with other stakeholders, such as coaches, trainers, and sport's governing bodies, to ensure the quality and safety of sports programs and events. This will include the preparation of risk assessments, briefing and de-briefing meetings with stakeholders.

Previous school-based administration or school officer experience is preferred.
