AddressWorking for this fast-growing technology and data services organisation a SQL Database Administrator you will manage the database technology and schemas, ensuring secure, efficient, and effective access to structured data while maintaining data integrity.
Key accountabilities
- Manage access controls and compliance, resolving complex database issues, assisting with reports, developing data processing designs
- Support processes, special projects, backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and capacity planning to meet the organisation's evolving needs
- Resolve complex database and data warehouse issues and associated problems
- Assist with the creation of customised reports and the maintenance of regular reporting
- Create and maintain detailed logical designs to establish the order in which data is processed, points at which decisions are made, and the sequence of operations
- Manage database backup, restore strategy, including cloud services
- Develop, manage and test disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure timely and effective recovery of data and systems in the event of a disaster or system failure
- Manage capacity planning processes to forecast future data growth and resource requirements, ensuring the database infrastructure can support the organisation's evolving needs
Skills, experience, and knowledge
- Extensive experience with managing SQL databases & Data warehouse environments
- Demonstrated high level of experience and skills in database structure and T-SQL
- High level data analysis, ETL, and database structure skills
- Previous experience in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of database warehouse technology
- Experienced in the design and development of SSRS, SSAS, SSMS, SSIS, and SQL services maintenance
- Prior experience with database backup, restore strategy, including cloud services
- Strong understanding of schema design, data modelling, and normalisation
- Demonstrated experience in the development of business-as-usual processes, procedures, and documentation
- Familiarity with database security best practices
- Excellent oral and written communication skills capable of engaging across different levels within the business
