ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client seeks a talented individual to manage and optimise their extensive database ecosystem. This role entails leading database design, development, and maintenance to ensure top performance, availability, security, and integrity. The candidate will drive efficient data handling, contribute to master data management, and support quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, they will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishing and upholding database standards and policies
- Providing support for database design, creation, and testing processes;
- Overseeing database availability and performance, including incident and problem management;
- Administering database objects to optimise utilisation;
- Conducting database maintenance tasks such as tuning and indexing.
- Contributing to governance, risk, and compliance efforts, including managing user access, addressing security issues, and participating in audit activities;
- Assisting in the design, configuration, and management of database backup, archiving, and storage strategies.
- Generating technical design and documentation for databases, infrastructure, integrations, and data analytics outputs as needed.
- At least 5 years Database Administration experience working in complex environments;
- Strong technical knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server various operating systems;
- Knowledge and experience with data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL;
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
