Domeland is a privately owned thoroughbred racing stable and boutique horse breeder located on the Central Coast of NSW. Domeland is currently seeking new Stablehands here at Domeland. Shifts offered at both Wyong and Kulnura stables.

Job description
We are seeking experienced Stablehands with a minimum of 3 years relevant racing experience for the position of Sr. Stablehand.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Prepare and strap horses for trackwork, trials and races, ensuring that all tack and riding equipment is safe and in good working order.
Lead and swim horses in the pool
Operate the horse treadmill
Monitor the health and wellbeing of our horses, immediately reporting all abnormalities and injuries to the Trainer or Foreperson.
Administer basic medications and treatments. Possess a good working knowledge of the Australian Rules of Racing and NSW Local Rules, particularly with the storage and administration of medications, and treatment recordkeeping.
Caring for the daily needs of our horses, including washing, mucking out stables, and feeding.
Report to Trainer or Foreperson on all elements of horse's performance
As leading Stablehand, provide on the job training to Assistant Stablehands, who may be new to the racing industry.

Locations & Schedule:
Kulnura: Monday to Saturday 0600-1700, Sunday 0700-1700
Wyong: Monday to Saturday 0400-1000, 1500-1700, Sunday 0600-1000, 1500-1700
Sr. Stablehands are rostered on for 38-40 hours a week with approximately 3 days off per fortnight. Extra compensation is provided for Wyong Split Shifts, Sunday shifts and during the Festive Period.
Requirements:
Sr Stablehand: Must have 3+ years of racing stable experience, in a similar role. Applicants with less experience may be considered for the position of Stablehand.
Hold or be in the process of obtaining Certificate IV in Racing (Racehorse Trainer), Certificate III in Racing (Stablehand), or Certificate III in Racing (Trackwork Rider)
Posess valid driving license and have reliable transport, MR license with ability to drive the horse truck is an advantage.
Currently hold or be able to obtain Racing NSW Stablehand or Foreperson License, which requires a clean Police Check.
Have the right to live and work in Australia (Working Holiday Visa holders who meet the experience requirements are welcome, however our location does not fulfill the Regional Work Requirement)
Be fluent in spoken and written English
Be physically capable of leading, controlling, and grooming a horse and standing for up to an entire shift; lifting, pushing & pulling objects up to 25 kg.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary DOE significantly above Award, with 1- and 3-year longevity increases
$35.80 - $38.05 / hr. (casual) with annual COL increases. (Ability to transition to full time status after one year of satisfactory employment)
Target Annual Compensation exceeds of $95,000 inclusive of allowances, bonuses, and NSW stablehand prizemoney share when working a 40 hour / week schedule.
Ample opportunity to earn additional income by picking up overtime shifts, driving the horse truck, or working racedays.
