As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be part of a squad within the group strategy team. You will be working with engineers who are leveraging the power of generative AI technology to improve and refine the tool to better serve colleagues and customers. Passion about building developing and deploying high quality software solutions
Experience with the full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices with specific focus on the following concepts: source control, CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure cloud pipelines, logging and monitoring.
Experience working on Front-end and Back-end technologies.
Ability to do high level solution designing and development.
Ability to collaborate, present ideas, influence and challenge stakeholders.
You’re actively involved in continuous learning, experimentation and innovation, ready to apply and promote industry best patterns and practices, driving high quality outcomes to solve core business objectives
You’re constantly thinking outside the box and breaking boundaries to solve complex technical problems
Tech Skills
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team:
Git: Knowledge of version control using Git, including branching, merging, and pull requests.
React: Strong understanding of React principles, component lifecycle, hooks, and state management.
HTML5: Skilled in using HTML5 to create structured web page layouts.
CSS3: Ability to style web pages effectively using CSS3, including knowledge of responsive design.
UI Frameworks: Experience with Tailwind and MUI (or equivalent) UI frameworks desirable.
Node.js: Familiarity with Node.js for server-side logic and integration with front-end elements.
TypeScript: Proficiency in TypeScript for adding strong typing to JavaScript, enhancing code quality and maintainability.
Next.js: Experience with Next.js for server-side rendering, static site generation desirable.
Cross-Browser Development: Experience in ensuring compatibility across different web browsers and resolving compatibility issues.
RESTful APIs: Experience in consuming RESTful services and APIs within the front-end framework.
State Management Techniques: Familiarity with state management libraries and techniques, such as Redux and Context Hooks, to manage application state.
Familiarity with Modern Build Tools: Experience with build and bundling tools like Webpack, Babel, and NPM scripts.
Debugging Skills: Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting web applications, using tools like Chrome DevTools.
Accessibility and Web Standards: Knowledge of web accessibility standards and practices to create inclusive and accessible web applications.
Good communication, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and adaptability in a fast-paced development environment.
