About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Endocrinology Service. The Department of Endocrinology provides an inpatient and outpatient service to patients with a range of endocrine diseases. A Staff Specialist (0.4 FTE) is required for a permanent position in the Department. The Endocrinologist will attend Bone and Refracture Prevention clinics, attend to inpatients, participate in Morbidity and Mortality Meetings, educational departmental meetings, and provide on call services as mandated by the Head of Department.

About you:
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Staff Specialist Endocrinologist who possesses a passion for person centred care. We welcome applications from people who motivated, organised, flexible and who can build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Selection Criteria:
- Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia;
- Possess, or be eligible to possess, specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
- Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialist’s State Award;
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills and high standards of clinical practice in Endocrinology (especially osteoporosis and bone and calcium disorders) commensurate to experience which is appropriate to the requirements of the position;
- Completed or working towards completing PhD in the bone field;
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching at specialty registrar, junior medical officer and undergraduate levels;
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team, and as a provider of services that engender high levels of patient satisfaction and experience; and,
- Demonstrated ongoing contribution to the development, dissemination, and translation of new knowledge and practices commensurate with work in an academic teaching hospital environment with a track record in clinical or health service research and publication relevant to endocrine medicine practice.
