Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Staff Specialist to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital!
We are looking for a Staff Specialist for the position of Head of Radiology! The Head of the Department of Radiology holds responsibility as the medical leader and manager of the clinical services, medical staff and training, research and quality programs and other functions relevant to the Department of Radiology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. The Director will work within the SLHD Medical Imaging Stream to ensure activities within the Department align to broader SLHD objectives.
The Department of Radiology provides extensive patient services and has a high academic profile in teaching, education, and research. There is a busy diagnostic and interventional Radiology service, as well as one of the NSW State Neurointervention programs.
The Medical Department Head will work in collaboration with medical, radiography, nursing, and allied health colleagues to promote evidence-based practice and innovation for excellence in care and continuous improvement. As clinical leader, they will enhance clinical engagement and professional practice and standards, as well as a culture of respect for the individual, teamwork, and continuous performance improvement.
SLHD has also developed their Management Accountability Framework, to guide all department heads across all disciplines within SLHD in managing and supporting staff to build effective teams.
The successful applicant will be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) with recognised qualifications in Radiology and/or equivalent (for the purposes of the respective Award/ Determination).
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
